UIN Sunan Kalijaga Halal Inspection Agency Keeps Indepedence and Professionalism
In order to maintain independence and professionalism, LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta held an Internal Audit, Management Review and Inhouse Training. The Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta was present to open this activity which was held in the 1st Floor Meeting Room of the PAU Building of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta (15/05). In addition, the Chairperson, Secretary, managers, auditors, and all LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga administrators were also present.
Prof. Dr. Ahmad Baidowi, S.Ag., M.Si, as the head of LPH started the opening by conveying some of the achievements made by LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga. “This LPH began in 2022 when it received Pratama accreditation until in 2024 LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga received MAIN accreditation,” he said. This accreditation makes the scope of LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga even wider. Not only in D.I. Yogyakarta Province, but even abroad to expand the scope and professional activities of this institution.
In his speech, Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Prof. Noorhaidi, S.Ag., M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., highly appreciated the achievements made by LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga. "If UIN Sunan Kalijaga can achieve 335 certifications per year or even more, it is certainly very extraordinary. We as leaders definitely support, especially for this LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga room. We hope that the contribution of this LPH will be stronger and can succeed in national programs," explained the Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga while opening this morning's activities.
Furthermore, Noorhaidi emphasized that we are considered capable of overseeing this halal ecosystem, even I often get awards related to this halal. This activity is expected to be a refreshment in guarding the existence of LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in the future.
The activity continued with an Internal Audit and Management Review session led by Muhammad Arief Rochman, S.T., M.T. as the internal auditor of LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga. This session aims to evaluate the implementation of the quality management system and ensure compliance between the procedures carried out with the established standards.
After that, participants received technical briefings related to the Halal Information System (SIHALAL), which focused on the mechanism of digitizing the halal certification process, including the use of the SIHALAL platform as an important instrument in carrying out the duties of halal auditors efficiently and transparently. The next session was filled by Prof. Dr. Drs. H. Makhrus, S.H., M.Hum. who presented material on halal audit techniques as well as an in-depth explanation of the product halal fatwa.
At the end of the activity, Makhrus gave an explanation of the Halal certification processes to the rules that apply in the Audit of Business Actors in the field. This final activity became Inhouse Training for all LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga managers. “We cannot force business actors in any case, later the MUI Fatwa Commission will see the track record of the auditor process carried out by auditors in the field.”, while closing the last activity.
