Halal Inspection Agency (LPH) UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta has received PRATAMA accreditation from BPJPH Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia in 2022 and the target in 2023, LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga wants to advance to MAIN Accreditation. The initial step carried out by LPH was to hold a Refreshment of LPH Auditor Competencies which was held on October 09, 2023 at Grand Rohan Yogyakarta. The next relay, LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga held a Halal Examining Agency Audit Operational Review activity to continue the same previous activity held at Grand Rohan, October 20, 2023.

This activity was opened directly by the Chairperson of LPH, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Baidowi, S.Ag., M.Si with the attendance of all auditors and prospective auditors of LPH UIN Sunan kalijaga as well as inviting Sharia Auditors and Prof. Dr. Drs. H. Makhrus, S.H., M.Hum. as a resource person as well as Chairman of the Fatwa Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council of Yogyakarta Province. At the opening of this activity, the head of LPH emphasized that LPH UIN Sunan Kalijaga only accepts business actors who are in accordance with the competence of the expertise of the auditors owned at LPH. "When we do not have auditors who are not competent in their fields, we will not accept business actors who want to register halal certificates here," said Prof. Baidowi further.

Furthermore, the Chairperson of the Fatwa Commission of the Indonesian Ulema Council of Yogyakarta Province, Prof. Mahrus began to suggest to immediately clean up and inspect every business actor who wants to register a halal certificate through this LPH. He said that when he encountered irregularities in the Chicken Slaughterhouse, such as dead chickens being taken for use, well this must be ascertained what it was used for. "Corrective actions must be fulfilled by business actors and the date of fulfillment must be written," he said seriously.

After adding insight to the auditors, LPH continues to improve and prepare accreditation forms towards main accreditation by bringing in resource persons who have experience in their fields. (iu/red)
